Here we have the Deathcard of Kajetan Huber who was a Soldat in a Grenadier Regiment. Kajetan died on the 9th July 1945 in a "Lazarett" (Military Hospital) in Rußland (Russia) aged 20 years.
Kajetan Huber was a dear Son and Brother and was infact Swiss (Schwizer), who lived in Marktl. Marktl is village in Bavaria, German located near the Austrian border. It is not common for foreign nationals to be detail on Memorial cards but here Kajetan Huber is remembered. Likely suffering from wounds in a Lazarett left to try and recover as the German forces retreated. Kajetan would have remained in the hospital as the red army took back control. To where Kajetan passed away as a result of wound endured whilst fighting as he and many other Soldats would have been withdrawing from Russia.
At the bottom of the card details family wishes and emotions that their loved one is resting in foreign soil. Sad words of such a young life lost. The reverse details an image of Jesus being comforted by an angel with a prayer for strength in those who are dying.
